I have been itching to write about this, but I wanted to make sure we had everything lined up first. Starting January 17 (my baby's 1st birthday), I will be a full time stay at home mom! I have been the primary breadwinner in our house for the past 4 years while my husband earned his degree and slowly established a photography business.
Now, it is time for him to go back to work and for me to be home with my 3 kiddos. I will also be working with him on his photography business- doing bills and other back end things; plus I will finally be able to shoot with him again. I fell in love with photography 10 years ago, and worked for a photographer for a few years. However, after hurricane Katrina we had to relocate, and I never found the time/desire to get back at it. Now, I will have a chance.
Will things be tight? Yes. Aside from Disney (which has long been paid for), we will not be splurging on anything over the next year. We will be pouring ourselves into building up our own business and working toward becoming full fledged business owners. I will also be taking some university photography classes to improve my skills. I know some stuff, but I have a lot to learn before I call myself a photographer.
That's another thing, I will finally graduate college. I have been in school on and off for the last 12 years and still have not obtained a Bachelor's Degree. How's that for embarrassing? I've been going part time the last couple years, but being able to go full time since I won't be working outside the home anymore means I should finish in about 3 semesters.
I am excited, nervous, thrilled, and scared of this change. But most of all, I am ready.

Sounds like a great start to 2013! Congrats on your many blessings!
